WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO HAVE MORE FUN PLAYING HOCKEY? DON'T FOLLOW THE HERD

Why do you play hockey? Is it for a living or is it for fun? Where do you play? Is it in a professional league or in a beer league? Do you get paid to play or do you pay to play? If you're reading this, chances are you're the one giving up the cash. Buying skates, gloves and sticks is expensive. On top of that you have to pay for the ice time to be able to use them.

Big name hockey brands do nothing to help. In fact, they do everything in their power to get you to spend more than you need to. You can't blame them though. They NEED your money so they can put big name hockey stars in their commercials. Then, they use those same commercials to get you to spend even more. See the cycle there?

You're smarter than that.

Deep down inside you know that a fancy new stick or a shiny new pair of skates won't make you a better player. It's a pipe dream, sold to you by multi-million dollar, dirty psychological-trick-filled marketing campaigns. You also know that the only way to improve your game is to PLAY MORE HOCKEY. Start making WISE hockey decisions.

INVEST IN YOUR GAME MORE THAN YOUR GEAR

In other words, spend more of your money on actual ice time than on the equipment you use. This is the only sure fire way to make you a better player. And you know what? The better you are at hockey, the more fun you will have playing it. Scoring goals is fun right?

Do you think we're crazy yet? A hockey equipment selling website telling me to buy ice time instead of the hockey gear the're selling? We might have a few screws loose but we ARE serious about what we are saying. If you don't need new gear, don't buy any. We would rather see you get better and have more fun playing hockey than try to sell you something.

THE BEST HOCKEY GEAR STAYS OUT OF YOUR WAY

We do get that at some point, you are going to need hockey gear. All the skill in the world won't help you if you try to skate with snowshoes. The quality matters too. Ever had a cheap pair of skates that hurt your feet from the moment you put them on? Not fun and not practical. The best type of hockey equipment is the kind that doesn't get in your way.

Now, we're not saying that big name hockey brands sell junk. If they did, the pros wouldn't be using them. What we're saying is that you have options. You can go for the popular choice, you know, the hockey gear you see advertized on TV, and have less money available for ice time. If you're on any kind of budget, this can be a problem (got kids playing hockey?).

On the other hand, you can choose the road less traveled. You can go for one of the few companies that doesn't rely on player endorsments to sell, pay less for the same quality and have more money left over for actually playing.

FLITE HOCKEY IS ONE OF THOSE COMPANIES

You may not have heard of them but they have been around for almost 20 years. They have been in business for all that time despite no major international marketing campaigns or player endorsments. What does that tell you about they have to offer?

This is what Flite Hockey is all about:

  • Quality that is on par with what any other company has to offer
  • Lower priced hockey equipment
  • Saving you cash to spend on actual ice time
  • Higher focus on quality than style, what really matters

On the other hand, what does Flite Hockey not do?

  • No fancy new features each and every year. If no technology is available to really help performance, why over-hype undetectable changes?
  • No big name player endorsments
  • No sneaky multi-million dollar marketing campaigns (you'll never see Flite ads on TV)
  • Not concerned with opponent-blinding style

If you can live with these problems (god forbid) you will like Flite, so give them a try. But remember, if you are hesitating about buying a new piece of equipment, ask yourself if you really need it or if you simply just want it. If a problem in your game can be solved with practice, go buy more ice time instead. Be wise, don't think that new equipment can provide you with a shortcut.
